1. What’s your government name? And how old are you? Give the people a little background about you, who you are, where you from etc…

Edgar(Eddie) Santiago 24. From Providence, RI. Currently living in Orlando,FL. Leader of “DieVerse” and a “Grind Mode Affiliate” featured on “Grind Mode Cypher vol.6”, “Hip Hop Never Died”, and “Grind Mode Cypher: Worldstar HipHop pt.2”

2. What is the meaning behind your rap name?/Where did it come from and why did you choose it?

It symbolizes my hunger for more. Where did it come from and why did you choose it? It started off by me scrambling the letters of my government name Edgar. I ended up sticking with it because it fit me well. I’m always hungry for more. I’m never satisfied with where I’m at, I want it all.

3. How long you been in the game for?

I’ve only been in the game since about May 2011.

4. How did you get into the game?

I’ve been writing since ’02 but never released anything or did any shows. In 2011 my cousin Sincere introduced me to Lingo, who ran an open mic every Sunday at “Forbidden City” in Providence. I went to the open mic every Sunday to better my craft. Once I felt comfortable enough I did shows and finally released my first project “I’m Gready vol.1: The Rookie Of The Year.”

5. So why do you rap? Is it like a hobby or a career move?

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a hobby, but I definitely wouldn’t call it a career move. It started off as something I did for fun, but the better I got at it and the more people my music started to reach I became more serious about it.

6. Who inspires you/Who is your favorite rapper?

Ever since I was young my favorite rapper has been Jay-Z, but my biggest inspiration is Lloyd Banks. Back in ’02 (around the time I started writing) I heard “Banks Victory” and have been a fan ever since. I love punchlines and multi’s. Banks is one of the best at it.

7. What are you trying to bring to the game?

I’m not trying to become anything big or “put RI on the map”. I just want to give people somebody else to listen to who doesn’t fall into the typical “commercial” rap category. I bring punchlines, metaphors, and multi-syllable rhyming.

8. What’s your favorite song or project you ever came out with?

That’s really tough. I like a lot of my songs, and there’s also a lot I don’t like anymore. Honestly my favorite song is actually my artist, Young Lu’s, song “Somebody That I Used To Know” featuring me. That song caught a quick buzz and had crowds amped whenever we performed it. The video to it was directed by me and I had a great time with it.

9. You got any projects coming out in the near future? If so, what are they?

“I’m Gready vol.2” is in the works and I got something big planned for it. Hopefully it all goes according to plan. Before that, I have “The B.O.M.M ’12(Best Of Music Monday)” dropping. Music Monday is a series I’ve done for two years now where I release a new song every Monday. “The B.O.M.M ’12” will feature my 13 favorite tracks of the 26.

And finally where can the people find you at, online?
