1. What’s your government name? And how old are you? Give the people a little background about you, who you are, where you from etc…

My name is James Peterson and I am 21 years old. I have lived in Atlanta Georgia all my life and I am proud to call it home. J I met my producer (MCTheProducer)  late 2011 and he has been helping me find my sound and voice that I can call my own along with my Graphic Artist (Mister Burnz) who does artwork for sites and promo singles. Right now its just the three of us and we are slowly building a cult following and fan base.

What is the meaning behind your rap name? Where did it come from and why did you choose it?

The name “Spazz” is a nickname I got as a kid in high school. It started out as “Tweek” (like the character from South Park), people would call me it because I would twitch it jump a lot due to my turrets  syndrome, but once I got into making music, I decided to use it as my name. What better name to use than a nickname from your childhood? But I didn’t want to seem like I was biting or stealing the South Park name, so I decided to go with Spazz and eventually that’s how people would associate with me and it was what they called me rather than James, which is my real name.

How long you been in the game for? How did you get into the game? So why do you rap? Is it like a hobby or a career move?

I have been rapping since 2010, although I started writing free verses in 2009 and slowly learned how to use recording software. I never really had plans on making it big time mainstream. All I really want is to make it as an independent underground artist and make money off of doing what I love, which is music, and everything from recording, directing and editing videos, mixing and mastering etc. I know how to do all that and I make pretty good money off of it so far. MCTheProducer does my mixing mastering and producing, but I mix and master for other artists as well. What really truly honestly got me into hip hop was the message. Back when I was a little kid, we had major people to look up to. Now days people have no one to look up to. You cant look up to Drake, you can’t look up to Rick Ross and get any inspiration out of them because they fabricate everything they did to come up to where they are now. They trash the whole route. Back when I was a kid we had people with major influence on our lives. Try doing what these dudes really do, go ahead. Go shoot a dozen gang members, smoke a pound of weed and see if you come out on top of the rap game. I GUARANTEE it WILL NOT be the same. Yeah Eminem talked about drugs and violence but he made things like 8 Mile that can inspire even the laziest person on Earth to change the way they live. Now days we just don’t have that, so I feel that it’s my duty to turn that around, even if I have to sacrifice myself and act out in order for them to pay attention and take a second look. Having a positive impact challenging your point of view on things is what motivates me to rap, but above all, respect.

Who inspires you/Who is your favorite rapper?

My favorite artist hands down is Eminem, He changed my life in more ways than one. Him and Michael Jackson are my biggest inspirations. They both proved to me that you can do anything you want in life just by being yourself and not caring what others think if you have the skill to back it up. They also represented what a true artist is. They both went through major crisis mode when they came under fire from media outlets, but not once did they let that jeopardize there music. They didn’t care what was going on outside, all they cared about was what was being created inside the studio.

What are you trying to bring to the game?

All I am trying to bring to the game is what’s RAW. Being yourself and not caring what others think of you. Not jumping on some bandwagon because its hot and its what everyone else is doing. There’s a big world out there and not everyone can fit in to what’s trending. Myself and two other  teammates   (MCTheProducer and Mister Burnz) aim to change the view everyone has on mainstream hip hop.

What’s your favorite song or project you ever came out with?

My favorite song has to be the remix I did to Slaughterhouse’s “Hammer Dance”. I recorded a freeverse to that and did a little home video for it and once I put that out despite it being low quality at the time, people really felt it. It was at that point when I realized how much people liked it and paid attention to what I was doing, and its been on the rise ever since. Another one of the fan favorites is a song I did called “Who Run It?” (Featuring Street Light and Shizzy Sixx)

You got any projects coming out in the near future? If so, what are they?

Right now I am working on a project with MC called “Thoughts Of An Outcast”. It has no release date but I am slowly working on it along with trying to partner with YouTube. I am just focused on gaining more followers and attention from fans before investing more time to properly promote and release the project. But it will definitely be out by 2013.

And finally where can the people find you at, online?
